Linux · Containers · Automation · AI

Mariusz Binczyk

I build and run Linux-based systems. I connect applications, automate repeatable work and use AI where it helps with everyday tasks.

The two projects below show how I work; my CV gives the wider picture.

Homelab

Know when something fails

Home services should keep running without constant manual checks. I built and maintain a system with around 50 containerised services, backup restore tests and automatic DNS failover; backups also go to a second node outside the home. I handle the design, automation, security and day-to-day operation.

  • Around 50 services run in containers on one home server.
  • Weekly automatic restore test; last successful run: 19 Oct 2026.
  • Home DNS failed over automatically three times in September 2026.

HomeApp

Everyday life in one place

Notes, calendars and daily tasks were spread across separate tools. I built HomeApp to bring them together, search through them and control the home. Its AI assistants run on a local language model; I build the code and keep the data on the server.

  • Notes, listings, prices and home control in one app.
  • AI searches notes and controls the home; data stays local.
  • React, TypeScript, Node.js/Express and PostgreSQL run in containers.
